Juliana Rotich will describe how technology combined with community can leverage global change by informing people from the ground up. By putting knowledge into people’s hands, and developing the networks that keep them growing, she is helping tech communities grow.
Juliana is Executive Director of Ushahidi, open-source software for collecting and mapping information — and co-founder of iHub, a collective tech space in Nairobi, Kenya.
Ushahidi is a nonprofit tech company that develops free and open-source software that democratizes information, increases transparency and lowers the barrier for individuals to share their stories. iHub is a tech space in Nairobi described as “part open community workspace, part vector for investors and VCs, and part incubator.”
