To open the conference we’ve invited the american artist Molly Crabapple to talk about how to use art and drawing as a way of thinking and exploring new ideas.
Molly is a painter, illustrator, and writer based in New York, Crabapple has produced work on subjects including the Spanish general strike, her former career as a pinup model, her arrest during Occupy Wall Street, and her visit to Guantanamo Bay. She creates art that captures our era of public protests and political upheaval.
She learned to draw in Paris. At age 22, she founded Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, a chain of alternative drawing classes with branches in 140 cities AND she has written many books.
